It's hell to die ugly as this
A tightrope walk on a power line
Another roll of six sided die
I take my chance with the passerby
To tear a page from hitchhiker's guide
She looks at me with a wicked eye
A bloated corpse with a mangled spine
She flicks her tongue and I'm paralyzed
Jerk out my thumb and I hitch a ride
I find myself in an alleyway
The gumshoe purrs at the grimy blade
He looks at me from behind the page
A coiled mass having set the stage
So many lives and so many days
The butterfly and eternal gray
Ambiguous and it comforts me
The I.V. drips and I fade away
Nine lives counting suicide
Can't face it all
Blood moon can't wait
To drink it all

Look at the Flowers
02:32
|
|||
Can you look me in the eye
And tell me that we're fortified
Inside this dream we built ourselves
The pastures lie beyond our cells
Textures that entice and spur
A woman's hair, a canine's fur
If I must wait for paradise
I'll toy with these to kill some time
Mac, they called the dogs on us
We're just looking at the flowers
A leather hand with vaseline
To keep it soft beneath the seams
These callouses were doomed to keep
To wrench inside that fabled dream
And quit! Stop your jerking
Hand over mouth, it isn't working
Oh, we ain't got nowhere else to go
Damned to a life of roam
You know they're going to kill you slow
Oh, we ain't got nowhere else to go
Damned to a life of roam
And now I got to let you go
So look at the flowers

Like Snow
03:50
|

You don't remember your name
You can't put a face to shapes
You got a lot of nerve
But don't know how it works
You don't remember your name
And it falls just like snow
Memory on your tongue
And the taste that you ache
What is it that you are
Do you remember this place
The love and loss you had chased
Alone and insecure
The cold sinks in the earth
Do you remember this place
Oh, you fall just like snow

She / Her / Hearse
03:08
|

Crossing genders and taking names
Leads us all to an early grave
Polyamorous, simply carnivorous
Let there be no escape
She
Her
Hearse
Gender feared, she'll put you in the dirt
Light or dark, no quarter, can't be tamed
Prisoner of love, see these chains
Insatiable amethyst, royal hounds of hell they thirst
Hyacinth wraps the stem of the brain

High above dear Maple Street
There looms a cold iron curtain of fear
That dares to drop and let all the monsters
Unleash their dreaded promise of chaos
As in Europe despots gift a new world war
Trembling parlors hug the radio
Hallows Eve: the radio
Begins to sing throughout dear Maple Street
The Seventh Trumpet declares all out war
And that heavy iron curtain of fear
Eclipses the sun and invites chaos
In vacant hearts of men into monsters
Halloween Night: the monsters
Now dance to the tune of the radio
Raiding the stores, jumping bridges, chaos
Entombing the stretch of this blood strewn street
Parlors gorging on endless waves of fear
Riding hysteria, imminent war
O great catalyst of war
Twisting the minds of men into monsters
Diving your hands in that great pit of fear
Now throbbing with screams from the radio
No fences nor faces can save Maple Street
Now plunged in the throes of sweet sultry Chaos
And we call it Chaos
This boiling of minds all stewing with war
Once masked with humanity on this street
Now reveals good neighbors make great monsters
Skies of martians (n)or men, the radio
Hissing, twists the knobs and tunes in to fear
And when that curtain of fear
Draws, and shadeless light casts on the chaos
And the broadcast fades on the radio
And mere fiction rescinds the throne of war
What will we make of all of these monsters
Scattered about in a daze through the street
Where there are minds of fear and war
Chaos reigns and calls to the sleeping monsters
Tune in to Welles’s radio on Sterling’s street

Sallow Moon

Sallow moon
You won't believe my eyes
But I think you ought to die
In the light of the moon
Is where I'll bury you
To fight the urge, I've tried
There's no use to run and hide
